Pictures of me and my ex-boyfriend?

How many of you have kept in touch with partners from past relationships?  Every relationship started somewhere and that somewhere is usually where another relationship ended.  The BIG question is should that past relationship matter?  Jason and I both dated quite a few people in the past and we have pictures, gifts and memories from our history with other people.  What do you do with that?  Do you destroy everything?  Do you cease contact with the past?  What if you went on a great trip with someone and you want to remember the trip, maybe not the actual person, what do you do?

With social media, breaking up with your ex is one thing… but deleting your ex from your life has become quite difficult… old emails, Tweets, blogs, digital pictures online, Facebook and the list goes on!  Here is some advice on how to delete your ex from your digital life The Sexual Manifesto:  Deleting Your Ex.

Soap Scum!!!

The Married Truth is, that we all think soap scum is kinda nasty! Most people know how to get rid of it thanks to the hundreds of products out there that can cost a whole lot of money in the long run. I’m gonna give you a cheaper solution that is so effective it will amaze you.

When I was on my vacation at BlueBay Grand Esmeralda I asked the cleaning crew manager what do you think is the best way to get rid of Soap scum? You must have a great trick!!! I want my glass shower door to look as clear and squeaky clean as the ones here at BlueBay.

I was expecting to get the name of a special product but to my surprise, the magical solution, was simply to use….. DRUM ROLL PLEASE.. Some of my shampoo.
There are two ways to do this:

A) Mix water and shampoo in a small Tupperware only used for cleaning- a wet rag – dip it in the shampoo/water mix, clean the glass and clear the water with a squeegee.YUP it’s that easy.

B) MIX water and Shampoo in a clean spray bottle, Spray the glass doors, clean with a rag and Squeegee the left over water.

So as skeptical and unlucky as I am I figured sure it works for them, but these tricks never work for me…. To my surprise IT WORKED!! I tried for ever with WINDEX and even that wouldn’t do the trick the way the shampoo did. Now I have beautiful clear glass doors…

Next Step is to try this solution on the mirrors… (will it ruin my mirrors??? ) STOP ME IF IT WILL… if not I’ll let you know next time!! speak to you soon

Sausage, Peppers and Pasta

Pasta Night! I decided to make a little twist to our pasta dish tonight. A very easy recipe that will both impress in appearance and taste.

How to make “Sausage, Peppers and Pasta” for 2:
Two Sausages
1 Red Pepper
Your favorite pasta
Olive Oil
Oregano

Preparation: Heat some Olive Oil in a frying pan. While the oil is warming up cut the sausages and pepper in to 1″ pieces and place them in the pan.

Cook the sausage and peppers on medium-low heat.

While the sausage and peppers are cooking boil some water for the pasta. A little trick to help the water boil faster is to add some sea salt to the water. Once the Pasta is ready strain it and put it in a big bowl. When the peppers are tender, they are ready. Add the sausage and peppers mixture to the bowl and sprinkle olive oil and oregano. All that’s left to do is toss and serve. Happy Cookin!

Is your new family ready to adopt a pet?

<-- Zorro, my Black Lab, is my buddy, roommate and shoulder to cry on when I need one! ISN'T HE HANDSOME!! We've been hanging out for two and a half years now... I Gotta say, having a pet has added so much to our lives but it hasn't always been easy. When we were looking in the paper for a pet and visiting pet shops for the cute addition to our family I only saw the $ on the add. I didn't see the other expenses that would follow, the sacrifices that we would have to make with our time and the extra cleaning that came with dog related messes. My (sometimes) smarter half, well he was doing research, reading books and figuring out which pet would best fit our lifestyle. Now I can't imagine a life without Zorro!
I found this great link that goes through the things one should think about when considering a pet. Dogs need lots of time and attention. Cats on the other hand could be a whole lot more independent. Mice are cute! Birds can chirp a bit too early but nothing compares to the joy they bring to your life, if you can handle them.
Here is the link: check it out:
In the beginning its hard but once you have a routine going things are great… Give your pet a chance don’t get one then give it away a few weeks later. If your lifestyle has no place for a pet then try not to fall for one because its only harder when you have to let them go or find them a new home.

Greek Ribs

Yasas! While in Florida this past January, I went to this Greek Restaurant called Greek Islands Taverna. I noticed something on the menu that I had never seen before, Greek Ribs. I asked my father if they were any good. He told me that they were the biggest thing down here. I observed how they prepared them and it seemed very easy. So when we came back I tried to make them and they were a big hit here at home. So here’s the simple recipe for Greek Ribs!

How to make “Greek Ribs” for 2:
One rack of Pork back ribs thawed
Oregano
Lemon or Lemon Juice
Salt
Olive Oil
Because the recipe requires some marinating time, this would be a good recipe for the weekend. Cut the ribs and place them in a baking dish, usually a Corningware dish if you have. With the ribs mix Olive oil, Oregano and some salt. Toss the ribs and place in the fridge for about 2-3 hrs to marinate. Set the oven to 350 and place the ribs in the oven. Cook for about 1 hour. Once the ribs are ready take them out, drizzle some olive oil and lemon juice on top and serve. I know this is a long process but the end result is amazing. Happy Cookin!

I cheated!!!!

OK folks so I cheated, I cheated and I don’t even feel bad about it… I tried to stay away from the temptation – I’ve stayed away for so long but I broke… I couldn’t help it…. I reached out and grabbed my Tostitos!

After I got married, I’m ashamed to say I kinda stopped taking care of myself. 2 1/2 years later I had gained weight, stopped being active, and just started feeling tired and lazy all the time. 5 months ago I decided there is no way I was gonna continue this way. I want to have energy for my future family and look good for my husband! I looked at what it was that I could cut out to help me get started and I did it! I gave up chips, fast food joints, and big portions. I lost 15 pounds in 5 months and it was a miracle diet that I didn’t have to pay a penny for.

Then I cheated! Should I beat myself up about it? Does my slip-up mean my healthy lifestyle has gone down the drain and I will never be able to recover ?? Dramatic dontcha think! well here is why : I always let myself have a cheat day (because of that I rarely use it)… the reason I’m in a panic is that my cheat day this week ended up lasting 3 days, I haven’t been able to stop.

Now that I’ve confessed this cheat week… I believe I will be able to get back into my game for tomorrow… Oh just one more thing.. I’ll have to try the Kraft dinner Nadia… oh and KEVIN give me some good healthy recipe to bring me back on track for the rest of the week.

That’s how easy it was for me to lose the pounds; no junk, cut down on chips, and smaller portions. Nadia I’m sure you can give us some great tips on exercise that can help keep the weight off and the heart healthy. The important thing is not to give up.

Wait… before you go, I’d love to hear your tricks! Speak soon!

Wine of the Month for March

For the month of March, I decided to showcase a very nice Shiraz from the Mendoza province of Argentina called Fuzion. I went to the local liquor store with a $10 gift card and wanted to try and find a wine that my card would cover. I had seen Fuzion at a few Hall parties but never tried it. I thought to give this is a very inexpensive red a try. Retailing for under $9, it was a great buy. Regarding taste, for the price you are not getting an exceptional wine but you are getting a very nice tasting wine that is easy on the pallet and does not leave an after taste. You are really stretching your dollar with Fuzion! Just to add some stats, over the past 6 months, Fuzion, has grown in popularity, to the point that the LCBO in Ontario is selling 1,000 cases a day. I welcome you to visit your local liquor store and pick up a bottle. You will not be disappointed!
