Youth in a Bottle?

My hubby Jason is a huge fan of Olive Oil! He uses it in all of his cooking and now I use it in so many more things as well! I was trying to find out what other things Olive Oil was good for and came accross this Dr.Oz video. One of the most important points he makes is that by having olive oil you are reducing your mortality rate by 50%! Wow pretty impressive! Check out the video and start using olive oil in your cooking…hair..and maybe even to shave??

Bring Your Own Wine…….

Helllloooo! It has been a few weeks not writing. I have been working some pretty crazy hours lately which means no time to write. Which also means no quality time with my husband! This is why last night we decided to go out for dinner at Portovino Ristorante in the West Island of Montreal. It is a bring your own wine restaurant, which Jason and I did.

It was the first time in a while that we were able to just sit and enjoy dinner with no work distractions! Great wine, a nice dinner and fabulous company…my hubby!

We had reached a point where we were both super tired and overworked…so a night out like this is just what the doctor ordered. What we didn’t expect is to get tipsy over wine!!! The wine got to both of us which left us a tipsy and stranded at the restaurant! We both didn’t want to take a chance to drive even though we weren’t that bad. We didn’t to call up my brother for a lift and then we all went to enjoy Brian Setzer at the Montreal Jazz Festival.

Great and spontaneous night!! Do you have any other great and simple date ideas? Share them!!!

Cleaning the Stove Top

We have all been there, time to clean the stove top. We i have just tried, what I think, is the best tool to help you clean it! I used to scrub and scrub and I was never able to take off those burn circles around my burners. My Stove top just did not look clean.

I decided to try something to help. I picked up a package of the Vileda Glass Ceramic Scrunge to see if it would work. The box claimed that it would remove all stains without scratching my ceramic stove top. You know what, it worked, and worked really well. Burn marks I had for years were gone! This product is amazing.

Pick one up and try it, you will not be dissapointed!

Comfort Food – Four Cheese Grill Cheese

We all have our own comfort food and for me a nice grill cheese brings back a lot of good memories and is always easy to make.

This recipe will add a twist on the regular grill cheese sandwich we are used to having or making. I use four different cheeses in this recipe and I hope you get a chance to try it!

Four Cheese Grill Cheese Recipe:
Two slices of bread
Parmesan Cheese
Melted Butter
1 Slice Mozzarella Cheese

1 Slice Swiss Cheese

1 Slice Thin Processed Cheese (Kraft Singles)

Directions:
Brush butter on one side of each bread and sprinkle some Parmesan cheese ontop. Place the buttered side in the pan, toasting both at the same time. Add the Mozzarella, Swiss and Processed cheeses on one of the slices. Take the second slice of bread and place on top and continue cooking until cheese is melted inside.

Share with us your comfort food…

Happy Cookin

Rainy Days are Good Days

You ever wake up, it’s raining out and you say “ah, it’s raining, the day is shot!”? Well for me a rainy day come with mixed blessings. On one hand, yes you can’t do much outdoors BUT on the other hand you have the chance to either clean up inside the house or just relax.

So many things that can be done around the house, vacuum, dishes, garbage’s, or watching a movie, email that friend you miss, sit and read a book, well you get the point.

One thing that a lot of us forget is that each day of our lives is important and everything we do adds to either making us feel good or feeling bad. Always remember that you are in control of how your day goes.

I would like to hear what you like to do on a rainy!

Respect for the Game

The 2010 World Cup started yesterday and everybody who knows me understands that there are some days where I will not be available….Many people are showing their support for their favorite team and I am no different. This is Greece’s second world cup appearance and I will be mentally blocked out from the world for each game they play! You have been warned haha.

“Respect for the game” means that there are certain times and certain things that we each need to respect as time for ourselves, our own little indulgences. For me, right now, it’s the World Cup. It could be your favorite show, sporting event, nice glass of wine on the deck or an awards show. Anything really but always remember to respect each other. Our passions are what drive us and passions are needed in life.

So support your team, buy that flag, that jersey and have fun. Often we forget to just relax and have fun.

Ellas!!! Ellas !!!

Toilet Paper Rolls

Just got back from filling up my cart with Royale toilet paper. On sale this week at Maxi! I don’t know about you but I am always on the lookout for toilet paper sales! I was a few rolls away from running out completely but I was holding out for a good sale!

Toilet paper can be so expensive… sometimes I see it at around $10 for 24 rolls! Way way too much! I just paid $4.97 for 30 rolls!

So on that note for all you toilet paper savers go pick up some quality Royale toilet paper for a great price!

Happy shopping!

Tired of Being Tired!

I’m tired….. I hate it when those words come out of my mouth! And to be honest I hate it when they come out of anyone’s mouth! Why do we do this to ourselves? Why are we always tired and always complaining of being tired? If we are tired then shouldn’t we just sleep?

My hubby tells me that I torture myself some nights trying to stay awake and he is right! Why don’t I just SLEEP!! I feel like it is such a waste of time! And I really don’t know what the ‘normal’ amount of sleep. How can we really know?

So my new challenge… is to stop complaining about being tired! If I am tired, it is my own fault and I either need to deal with it or shut up about it! Who is with me on this one? If you catch me saying I’m tired… you are allowed to get upset with me! (Just don’t be too mean)

In the meantime, I’m off to bed so I can get up bright and early!

A Wise Investment…

We all like making smart purchases and when thinking of items to buy for the house, you need to do your research and be smart. One thing to consider when making a purchase is how much the item will be used, daily, weekly, monthly….this plays an important role in how much you could spend on an item. Very simple, buy quality for items you use daily!

For example, you want to buy a new coffee machine. There is a wide range of choices, from $15 and up. We had bought one of the cheaper machines, and you know what, we got a good couple of years out of it. But then we decided that because this was an item we used almost daily, we would spend a bit more and get a better machine.

There are all kinds of coffee machines, they come with timers and grinders and other bells and whistles that most people don’t use. You need to do your research to see how much you are willing to spend and what you really need the item for. I do suggest for those items you use daily (Toaster, TV, DVD, Computer or Coffee maker) that you put a little more into the quality of the item. In the long run the item will last longer and lets be honest, buying 3 $20 coffee machines in 10 years or buying 1 $50 machine, you end up saving in the long run….
