Kraft Dinner: A quick meal alternative? Part 1
Thank You Kevin for that amazing fast and simple stir-fry recipe! I definitely need a few more easy and fast recipes I can try during the busy busy week.
On that note Jason thinks that Kraft Dinner can sometimes be a quick alternative… At this point in our lives I don’t think Kraft Dinner is an option! It doesn’t seem healthy at all! I’m sure it tastes great…
Ok I have a little confession to make… I have never had Kraft dinner! I know its hard to believe but its true. I feel like the only 28 year old that has not tried Kraft dinner? Am I?
How about this…. before I come to any conclusions about the validity of Kraft dinner as a quick meal alternative, I am going to try it for the first time! Yes mark it down! Nadia Lawand, 28 years old, will try Kraft Dinner for the FIRST time in her life!!!
To be continued…
Simple Fast Stir-Fry
We’ve all been there. Time to prepare supper, you open the fridge and you have very few ingredients to cook with….. Here is a simple, healthy, easy meal that looks as good as it tastes.
How to make “Simple Fast Stir-fry” for 2:
1 Red Pepper
1 Onion
1 Broccoli
Pre cooked and cut chicken – you can pick this up at Costco or any other grocery store. Great to have in the freezer!
Package of Asian noodles and Sauce – you can pick this up at any grocery store
Preparation: Cut the red pepper and onion into thin strips. Cut the broccoli into 2″ pieces. Pour some canola oil in the Wok or large frying pan and heat at Med Heat on the stove. Add the veggies to the Wok and cook until the veggies are somewhat tender, at this point add the pre-cooked chiken and continue cooking until the veggies are fully cooked. On the side prepare the noodles as per the instruction on the noddle package. Once the noodles are done, mix with veggies/chicken in a large bowl. Add the stir-fry sauce, stir everything together and enjoy. Happy Cookin!

6 red flags he’s not the one!!
There is so much I wanna say!! I wanna talk about love, I wanna talk about money, I wanna talk about work, a healthy balanced life but today I’d rather ask you, how do you even know he’s the one!! Before you tie the knot, check out these 6 red flags that could save you a whole lot of trouble ahead. See if your guy is the one for you! (this goes the other way around also : see if SHE is right for you)
- You always catch him lying! Not a good idea to stick around… who knows how many of those were directed to you and /or if they were caught
- He has no responsibilities, nothing matters, never had anything to be responsible for. RUN.
- Money is often the root of arguments so if he’s stingy & cheap, leave. Notice I didn’t say POOR I said stingy. Even the poorest of guys find ways to give from their hearts.
- This guy is WAYYYY too attached to his parents. If he is pathologically attached to his family you should watch out.
- Stay away from a violent man. Your safety should be your number one! Don’t think he might change after the ring. They usually don’t unless they get professional help.
- Has jumped around from one relationship to the next without caring about who he hurt along the way. You don’t want to be the next check mark on anyone’s list.
Love is a crazy ride once your in it! What’s great is that you have power to make it the best ride you’ve ever been on. See you all tomorrow!

No Name Brand = Gucci
Tonight while Jason and I were grocery shopping we realized how much of our basket is filled with the ‘No Name‘ brand. The prices are definitely cheaper but does that mean the quality is cheaper as well? In the battle of the generic brand vs. brand names I really think that generic wins! I mean, it seems like we are getting the same product but with generic packaging!
My question is WHY would you pay more for something just for the name? If it was a designer purse I might understand it… but if it is pasta?? Why not save the money and buy No Name Brand and then save up for other things… like a Gucci purse even!
On that note… I’m going to look at the Gucci website…. maybe if I buy enough ‘No Name’ brand products I could end up with a purse

What’s for dinner?
“What’s for dinner?”, a question we have all come face to face with and have tried to avoid or just can’t answer. The end result is ordering out, eating out or preparing frozen meals. In my experience, this question can cause stress especially for those who can’t cook. My name is Kevin and I am here to help you answer the “What’s for dinner?” question. I will be discussing cooking on a budget, simple meals, setting up a weekly meal plan, entertainment food menus and how to pick that perfect wine even if you know nothing about wine. So stay tuned and happy cookin!

Hello people! IS IT JUST ME or when you get angry do you feel a rush of emotions zap through your body like a current of electricity that explodes right out of your mouth? I use to have a serious problem controlling what came out of my mouth when I was angry. NOW, with practice,to control my anger outbursts I BREATHE, STAY CALM..I figured once the storm has passed the sun always comes out! Try never to make a rash decision while in the middle of the storm … stay calm until the storm passes and after that, decide what you will do to clean up the mess it left behind. That way, you at least know you didn’t have a hand in making it worse.

When it comes to money… yours is mine and mine is yours?
Today I decided it was about time to reorganize our financial papers….for the third time in the last 4 months!! When it comes to bank accounts, credit cards, investments, insurance and mortgage when in a relationship do you combine everything? Should you combine bank accounts when you are dating? Engaged? Married? Or should it always stay separate?
Right now Jason and I have everything seperate so things can get a little mixed up. We both have different banking institutions and different ways to organize our accounts. That being said… we have no idea what is the best way to go about this.
I have taken some great advice from my advisers Mike and Greg… but I get constant advice from Gail Vaz-Oxlade, host of ‘Til Debt Do us Part and author of Debt Free Forever. Jason and I tape her shows all the time and really take the tips and advice she gives seriously. She tells you how to live within your means and be debt free!
Now that we have a new financial filing system set up… I’ll keep you posted on the status as we go along.

How much is too much?
First of all let me say that I am extremely lucky to have a pretty equal relationship when it comes to housework. My hubby and I both take turns cleaning, doing laundry, cooking, microwaving leftovers etc…
That being said, the latest great debate between my hubby and I is how many times a week laundry needs to be done. Jason says once every 2nd week and I say at least twice a week. Every 2nd week? I still don’t get it!!! Jason thinks he can where the same jeans until they feel dirty…. 2 weeks? All I can think of is ‘Ewwwww where have I sat?’ ‘Did my pant leg touch the floor?’ ‘How many germs are just sticking and growing on my clothing?’ And what is better than fresh, clean and sweet scented clothes?
On that note, I really don’t enjoy having huge piles of laundry to do! It is overwhelming! Why not do laundry a bit more often, which means less time sitting between piles of laundry to do! What is the right answer? How many times do you do laundry?

The Truth is Sometimes you just need a break!
2 weeks away with the man I love at the BlueBay Grand Esmeralda was just what I needed to start the year off on the right foot! I had forgotten how great for our marriage a little getaway could be. THE TRUTH IS…I’m convinced couples need a break from everyday routine to focus on each other. When was the last time you took some time off and enjoyed your Romeo?
